E-Bikes: Community Safety Reminder
Posted on Jan 2, 2026

Following the holidays, we’ve seen an increase in motorized bike use. With more activity comes a shared responsibility to make sure everyone is using our streets, paths, and common areas safely and appropriately.

Things to Know

Arizona Law
  • Arizona law classifies e-bikes into three categories. Class 1 and 2 e-bikes (up to 20 mph) are allowed on bike paths, while Class 3 e-bikes (up to 28 mph) are not. All e-bikes must display a manufacturer’s label indicating their class, top speed, and wattage.
City & State Regulations
  • City and state regulations prohibit the use of ATVs, off-road bikes, and other motorized vehicles on sidewalks, washes, and trails. Operating motorized vehicles in unauthorized areas may result in citations or trespass violations. Law enforcement has the ability to impound bikes.
Las Sendas Policy
  • Las Sendas policy does not permit motorized vehicles of any kind on common areas, including pathways and natural or unmaintained areas.
We encourage everyone in the community to review these guidelines, prioritize helmet use, and stay aware of vehicles, pedestrians, and homes. These policies exist to help prevent accidents and ensure Las Sendas remains safe and enjoyable for all residents.

Thank you for helping look out for one another and for doing your part to keep Las Sendas safe.
